카이 (Ka-I in Hangul) the word Kai was a German name, mostly used by males as their nicknames. But she thought other wise, and that the name suits her well.
She may not have the powers of the Scandinavian God bearing the same name, nor is her influence as vast as the ocean, as referred to by the Hawaiians to the word Kai, but someday, somehow, she hope, that just like that Sun God (Kai), she can shine and protect the ones she loves.
